Lucy Crombie

MA, BA hons
Architectural Designer

Lucy has academic qualifications in classical languages and literature, art and design, and book conservation, and has previously worked professionally as a conservator for clients including Oxford colleges, the Ashmolean, Worcester Cathedral, and the Wellcome Trust. Her move into architecture was motivated by a desire to be more proactively involved in work towards positive change for people and the environment. She is currently retraining on the RIBA Studio Certificate alongside working in practice, and was awarded the RIBA Martin Pearce Prize in Architecture for work carried out during her first year of study.

Lucy joined Sow Space officially in late 2023, having already worked with us for some time on an urban gardening project. She believes that community led projects are the best way to create change, and enjoys building relationships through her work, whether that be with groups or individual clients. In her role as an Architectural Designer, Lucy supports team members on a range of projects; her background in conservation, craft and design equip her with hand skills and an attention to detail that are valuable in various aspects of practice work.

Study takes up much of Lucy’s time away from employment, but when she does have a spare moment you’ll find her growing geraniums, watching She-Ra with her daughter, and attempting to limit the impact of her cats upon local biodiversity.
